Production Process:
- Material Compounding
– Silicone base is blended with conductive carbon pills and additives (per ASTM D2000) using twin-roll mills to achieve the required material properties.
- Tooling Fabrication
– Precision molds are CNC-machined to a tolerance of ±0.005mm, with laser-etched legends to ensure accurate and durable key markings.
- Compression/Injection Molding
– The preforms are vulcanized at temperatures ranging from 160–180°C and under 15–20 MPa pressure to form the keypad layers, ensuring optimal flexibility and durability.
- Silkscreen Printing
– UV-resistant inks (Pantone-matched) are applied through automated screen printers with 200–325 mesh screens, followed by infrared (IR) curing for enhanced print durability.
- Post-Processing
– Flash is trimmed using lasers, and metal domes/PCB contacts are integrated with conductive adhesives (IPC-CC-830B compliant) for seamless functionality.
- Assembly & Testing
– Elastomer layers are mounted into housings using robotic pick-and-place systems, followed by 100% functional testing, including actuation force, travel distance, and IP67 sealing validation.
– Final quality assurance includes MIL-STD-883 vibration tests and RoHS-compliant XRF verification, with products packaged in ESD-safe vacuum-sealed packaging.
