Production Process:
- Design and Customization: The process begins with designing the layout, including the button shapes, legends, and backlighting options. Customizations like size, color, and logo placement are finalized to meet specific requirements.
- Material Preparation: High-quality silicone rubber is selected, often in the desired color or translucent form for backlighting. The material is then prepared for molding to ensure it meets the specifications for texture and durability.
- Molding Process: The silicone is placed into a mold and subjected to compression molding. This step ensures that the keyboard’s buttons are formed accurately, with all the necessary features and designs.
- Legend Application: Depending on the design, screen printing or laser etching is used to apply the legends. Screen printing is typically used for bold, multi-color graphics, while laser etching provides precise, permanent markings, often with enhanced backlighting visibility.
- Surface Coating: Protective coatings such as PU Coating, Matte Smooth Coating, or Epoxy Coating are applied to the surface of the silicone keypads to enhance durability, improve texture, and provide additional protection against wear and tear.
- Backlighting Integration: For colored backlighting, appropriate lighting systems (such as LEDs) are integrated into the silicone keypad, ensuring uniform and vibrant illumination through the translucent areas.
- Quality Control and Testing: The finished keyboards undergo thorough testing for functionality, durability, and consistency. Quality control checks are performed to ensure the final product meets the required standards and specifications.
- Packaging and Shipping: Once quality is verified, the custom keyboards are packaged securely, ready for delivery to clients. Custom packaging can also be tailored to the customer’s branding and requirements.
